Laser Skin Tightening

Laser skin tightening is an effective method of skin tightening of the face, neck and other body areas.

How does laser skin tightening work?

Croydon Cosmetic Clinic uses the GentleYAG system. The system “tightens” by heating the underlying layers in the skin and forming new collagen. The result is smoother, younger looking skin. The GentleYAG’s patented epidermal cooling system, the Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD(TM)), protects the skin with every laser pulse allowing for quick results and your comfort.

What happens during treatment?

To prepare for the treatment your skin should be thoroughly cleansed and dried, removing any make up, creams, oils, topical anaesthetics or self-tanning products.

The laser is guided to the treatment areas with a small hand piece. Each laser pulse is combined with a short pulse of cooling spray to maintain comfort throughout the treatment. Both before and after the pulse is administered. The treatment could take as little as a few minutes to 30 minutes depending on the area and condition being treated.

The intended treatment area should not be exposed to sunlight or sun beds before the booking date. Treatment is given every month until the desired result is achieved (your practionitioner will advise on this before the treatment commences). We usually recommend a course of six treatments.

What does it feel like?

Some clients may feel a slight discomfort with each laser pulse, sometimes described as the snapping of a rubber band on the skin, or warmth. This discomfort resolves in several seconds and is minimised by the cooling device.

Are there any side effects?

Any risks are minimal with this treatment and would be fully covered at the consultation stage
